Using social media to market your trade show booth is easier than you think. It just take a little planning. Let's break this task into three simple parts -- what to do before the show, what to do during the show and what to do after the show.
Before the show
You want to lure people in, right? What's going to make them want to come? Curiosity, maybe? Create a campaign of videos with teaser information about something new or innovative available at your booth.
Don't have something new to announce? Post a video of yourself explaining who your company is and what you're looking to accomplish through the show. This humanizes your efforts.
You can also invite them to stop by and put their name in for a drawing or to snatch up a special deal for social media followers! Drawings create leads for you to connect with later on, as well.
During the show
Continue to strongly promote the day of your show. Video current customers and their interactions at the trade show and share on social media.
Do countdowns and create urgency by posting things like "Only 3 more hours to take advantage of our show specials!"
Post videos of talks you or your colleagues participate in, as well.
After the show
Post a summary blog of all that happened at the trade show, and promote it via your social media channels.
Thank old and new customers that came by and shout some out by name. Make sure you connect on social media with them as appropriate.
Announce your drawing winners or those customers who took advantage of the special deals. You may even want to run a follow-up contest or deal after the show and promote it for the following few days. Label it your "post-show special" and be sure to include how popular it was at the show. Create that sense of demand and urgency.
Throughout the process, be genuine and show your excitement. True passion about your company and what you do, as well as your customers, is contagious. Have fun with it!
