If you're looking to increase your event's attendance, then social media will be your best friend. In addition to inviting guests, you can also create buzz around your event with marketing tactics. In this blog we'll talk about one of our favorites: teaser videos.
Teaser videos are used to promote events of all types. You may remember some of the cheesy ones which were used for pro wrestling matches in the 80s and 90s. Even though they were ridiculous, they were very effective in terms of increasing TV ratings.
You can do the same for your event. According to a recent Marketing Land article, you can share your teaser videos on several social media platforms to create buzz around your event:
"Is your company unveiling new services or products at the event? Have an epic contest you’ll be hosting? Teaser videos are a great way to quickly generate interest and can be shared on any social platform. You can upload them to YouTube and even create shorter versions for Vine and Instagram. Share these videos on Facebook and Twitter along with the event hashtag."
A positive aspect is that you only have to create one or two videos to get the job done. Then, you can post them to all your social media accounts. So even though you just have to shoot one video, you can share it on Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.
If you want, you can post an entire series of teaser videos which are related to one another. Encourage viewers to look for the next video by creating a story or a riddle.
Videos are great for promoting your event, and teaser videos are even better for creating buzz. We recommend posting a few teaser videos before your event to maximize your attendance.
